God moves in mysterious ways

I love William Cowper’s poem by the same name. If you don’t know who he is – he’s worth a google. My favourite stanza is the second one:

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.

It is a wise poem and it is beautiful – and both those attributes together mean it has long been a comfort to me. Worth a read. Worth many reads. Worth a memorisation!
